Safeguarding & Inclusion
Yorkshire Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people within its family of schools.
We expect all staff and families to share this commitment and support us in providing an inclusive, positive and caring environment in which our children and young people can develop their academic, social and emotional potential.
Each school in our Trust supports safeguarding through their offer of safeguarding and child protection awareness training.
YLT supports each school in the following ways:
The Trust fully adopts the most up-to-date Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
As a Trust, we undertake safeguarding reviews and audits on an annual basis by an independent body that scrutinises our policy and procedures.
The Trust is led by a Chief Executive who has ultimate responsibility for excellence in safeguarding.
The Trust has a Trustee with special responsibility for safeguarding.
Each school has its own Safeguarding Policy that details its school-specific advice and designated safeguarding officer details.
Each school has a governor on its Governing Body with special responsibility for safeguarding.
Inclusion
In line with our vision and values, we prioritise the wellbeing of our schools' children and young people through our commitment to inclusion and support of our most vulnerable children.

A full-time core central team role provides strategy, drive, support and challenge in all of these vital aspects.
Through our outsourced educational psychologist contract, we provide DSL and link governor support networks and DSL supervision. This contract also supports our SENDCO network and provides contracted advice and support to our schools outside of statutory work.
